When planning their engagement session, Bailey and Liam knew they wanted something that felt laid-back, genuine, and true to who they are. They didn’t want anything too staged or formal, they simply wanted to capture their connection in a way that felt effortless and real.
We kicked things off at a cozy whiskey bar downtown, where we grabbed a drink and spent some time just chatting and laughing. It was the perfect way to ease any nerves and slip naturally into the rhythm of the evening. Plus, since Bailey and Liam originally met at a brewery, starting the session with a cocktail felt like the perfect personal touch.
The photos we captured inside the whiskey bar turned out to be some of my absolute favorites. The low, moody light, the playful reflections in the mirrors, and the way they interacted so naturally made it feel like I was simply a fly on the wall during one of their date nights. Every moment felt authentic and full of heart.
After finishing up at the bar, we headed to the top of a nearby parking garage in downtown Asheville just as the sun began to set. Music floated through the air, the sky was painted in soft gold and pink, and Bailey and Liam needed almost no direction at all. When two people are truly in love, you can feel it instantly — in the way they laugh together, in the small, unspoken moments, in the comfort and silliness they share without even trying.
This session was one of those rare and beautiful experiences where everything just clicked. The light, the energy, the connection. It’s a photoshoot I’ll always hold close to my heart.
